A technical lead sits between engineering and delivery: still writing code, but also responsible for design decisions, code review standards and unblocking a team of four to ten engineers. In Indian organisations the title varies enormously — in a services company it may mean module ownership, in a product company it means owning a service and its on-call rotation. It is not a course-driven role. People reach it after six or more years of shipping, and the training that helps is architecture and system design rather than another framework.
