Tableau retains a real following in Indian analytics teams, particularly in organisations that standardised on it before Power BI's licensing advantage took hold, and in consultancies serving overseas clients. The demand is narrower than Power BI but genuine, and Tableau specialists often work on more analytically demanding problems. As with any BI tool, SQL underneath is assumed, and the developers who progress are those who understand data modelling rather than those who only know the interface.
