Database administrators keep production databases available, fast and recoverable — backup and restore that actually works, performance tuning, upgrades and access control. Indian demand is stable rather than growing, and the shape of the job has changed: cloud-managed database services have removed much of the routine maintenance, pushing DBAs toward performance engineering and architecture. Those who have added a cloud platform are in a materially better position than those maintaining only on-premises estates.
