Brand managers own a brand or product line commercially — positioning, campaigns, pricing input, and the market share it holds. It is the traditional prestige track in Indian marketing, historically MBA-fed and concentrated in FMCG, but now also found in D2C, fintech and consumer tech. The role is genuinely general management in miniature, and the people who succeed are as comfortable with a profit and loss statement as with a creative brief.
